Pele’s Children is the sequel to Pele’s Realm, a crime adventure novel set on the Big Island of Hawaii. Maggie and John Kovac are once again in the crosshairs of The Company, code name for the Hawaiian Mafia. Maggie is notified of John’s death at the hands of the Mafia, but Madam Pele, the Fire Goddess of the volcanos, intervenes. Although he was shot and tumbled into Kileaua Caldera and believed to be incinerated in molten lava, he survives, but he has amnesia. U. S.Marshalls take Maggie into protective custody believing she is a loose end the Mafia wants to tie up. The Mafia learns of his survival and kidnaps Maggie to use as bait to find John.
